Below are answers to common questions about HES products. Contact technical support if you have other questions.
How do I select a pneumatic actuator model and size?
Consider required valve torque, air supply pressure, single- or double-acting operation and installation space together. Provide valve size, differential pressure, medium and other details so HES engineers can assist with selection.
What is the difference between single-acting and double-acting actuators?
Double-acting actuators use air pressure for both opening and closing. Single-acting actuators use air pressure in one direction and a return spring in the other, automatically returning on loss of air pressure for greater safety.
How do I ensure the actuator matches the valve?
Match actuator output torque to the valve opening and closing torque, and confirm compatible mounting flanges (ISO5211) and shaft dimensions. HES provides complete package selection to ensure a reliable match.
What air supply does a pneumatic actuator require?
Clean, dry compressed air at a working pressure of 0.4~0.8MPa is generally required. An air preparation unit with filtration, pressure regulation and lubrication is recommended to prevent impurities from affecting sealing and service life.
Which media are suitable for fluoropolymer-lined valves?
Fluoropolymer-lined valves (F4/F46) are suitable for highly corrosive media such as strong acids, strong alkalis and organic solvents, and are widely used in chemicals, petrochemicals and environmental protection.
How should pneumatic valves be maintained?
Regularly check air cleanliness, seal wear and actuator lubrication. During prolonged shutdown, operate manually or pneumatically once a month to keep the valve and actuator moving freely.
